Celebration, Valuation, Promotion

Here are three things we thought You Should Know this week:

1. “Tookie” Angus Celebration of Life -
I’ll be at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver this afternoon for the 3:00 pm celebration of the life of “Tookie” Angus. Will be a very large crowd, I’m sure - and I’m looking forward to listening to the tributes to this larger-than-life man. R. ANGUS Obituary (1949 - 2023) - Legacy Remembers. Hope to see you there if you’re reading this from Vancouver.

2. Asking for some friends: Here’s a purely theoretical, of course, valuation question for all you capital markets experts reading this: What would you pay for a seven-year-old fintech (banking/commercial lending) platform that’s been public now for two years, doing $7 million revenue with net income of $3.3 million, revenue on track for likely $20 million next year and $50 million the year after, with similar margins. First dividend payment likely in three years. Cash flow positive, $8 million in the bank, no need to finance operations, but lots of M&A opportunity coming up.

Send me your answers - and I’ll pass them along to my friend who’s asking me the theoretical question. And I’ll let you know next week what we got back.

3. Rising star: Those of you who have met Alexis de la Renaudière will know why we promoted him to Managing Director/Directeur général of our Peterson Capital Retail Advisory platform this week. This young man, who is originally from France, joined us 18 months ago as a Sales Associate, quickly rose to become a VP and is now leading our Canadian VP platform. His energy, work ethic and focus on developing strong relationships with our clients, IA network and his fellow colleagues is simply outstanding. Watch this young man - huge leadership abilities, coupled with an amazing personality - and as a wine sommelier, a great guy to have with you in a restaurant. 😊

Here’s our roadshow schedule next week:

If you’d like more details and want to connect with our VPs for any of these meetings, drop me a line.

Thank you so much for your continued support and interest.

Chair
